Content design was the connective tissue that made this sensitive, legally complex feature not only usable—but valuable—for both job seekers and employers. CONTEXT
CHALLENGE
Employers are increasingly seeking ways to support diverse hiring practices and meet Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance. However, many lacked easy-to-use tools for collecting candidate demographic data in a compliant, user-friendly way.
Indeed recognized this opportunity to not only support employers' DEI goals but also differentiate itself in a competitive job posting market. The challenge: introducing optional EEO questions into the apply flow in a way that was legally sound, clear to job seekers, and compelling to employers.
As a content designer, my job was to ensure the right words bridged the gap between compliance, user experience, and business value.
